World Design Capital Taipei 2016 International Design House Exhibition Opens today until 10/30.

2016臺北世界設計之都 – 國際設計大展 正式開跑！

Prof. Mugendi M’Rithaa, President of ICSID, the organizers of the World Design Capital designation was joined by Taiwan President, Tsai Ing-Wen and Taipei City Mayor, Ko Wen-Je at Songshan Cultural & Creative Park to officially announce the opening of the much anticipated WDC International Design House Exhibition.

“During this exhibition, we hope that we can show the world the strength of design in Taiwan,” said Mayor Ko.

Prof. Mugendi M’Rithaa added “May you be inspired by the many new design ideas and encouraged by the way design thinking is having a positive impact on the lives of people in Taipei and in different parts of the world. ”

Lastly, President Tsai expressed her hopes for the future, “I really hope that Taiwanese society can respect the expertise of designers and really get to know the value of design.”

After the press conference, President Tsai and Mayor Ko had the chance to tour the exhibition ground and check some of the 100+ design works on display.
